So I have just finished the author's second book, Obsession, and I absolutely loved it. Being a female, I really enjoyed reading about two kick-ass female protagonists whose personalities complement one another. The first book is The Time After Oblivion, which sets up the timeline and universe for the series and follows Jason and Hercules. The second one follows Hecate and Nemesis, and their journey is about the Gem of Illecebra, a legendary Atlantean gem that no one thinks exists and that is just a fable until it is found by the Goddesses. Anyone who encounters the gem becomes obsessed with having it, and bad things follow, but it is also very powerful and could perhaps help the Olympians, who are now forgotten by the modern world. It could be used to be recognized again as a powerful pantheon like before, and not just stories, but both goddesses don't see eye to eye on the gem. They must work together to make sure the gem doesn't end up in the wrong hands. They build a trusting friendship and bond and compliment each other in battle. This story is action-packed and has surprises. A great read. Looking forward to more adventures as the series continues.
